Former Iowa Citian and current Rutgers University associate professor of history Johanna Schoen will read from and talk about her new book, Abortion After RoeAbortion After Roe chronicles and analyzes what the new legal status and changing political environment have meant for abortion providers and their patients. 

Schoen is the author of Choice and Coercion: Birth Control, Sterilization, and Abortion in Public Health and Welfare. Schoen taught in the History department at University of Iowa for over 11 years prior to her current position at Rutgers, where she is also Vice Chair for Undergraduate Education. She lives in New Jersey.
