Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Robert Hass will read from The Apple Trees at Olema: New and Selected Poems. He will also read from his new selection of the work of Walt Whitman, Song of Myself and Other Poems. Robert Hass is the author of five previous collections of poems as well as two collections of essays. He is the principal translator of the Nobel laureate, Czeslaw Milosz, and has also translated the Japanese haiku masters, Basho, Buson, and Issa. He served as poet laureate of the United States from 1995-1997 and currently teaches at The University of California at Berkeley.
