Wonder Horse
Emily Arnold McCully

There’s nothing stranger or more inspiring than real life.  In the late 1880s Bill “Doc” Key, a veterinarian and former slave, helped move our nation to a more humane treatment of animals.  Using kindness and patience Doc Key trained his horse, Jim Key, to recognize colors, distinguish letters of the alphabet, make change from a cash register and do simple math.  All ages are sure to enjoy this fictionalized account of Wonder Horse.
