Matt Runkle will read from his new short story collection, The Story of How All Animals are Equal and Other Tales. Driven by fascinating characters and the technical and lyrical possibilities of language, The Story of How All Animals Are Equal and Other Tales extracts meaningful psychological drama from absurd situations, which is presented with dark humor and wit.
Matt Runkle is a writer, cartoonist, printer, and book artist. His writing has appeared in The Collagist, Beecher's, Monkeybicycle, Wigleaf, and BOMB. He currently studies at the University of Iowa Center for the Book and serves as member of the College Book Art Association board. The third issue of his zine, RUNX TALES, is newly released. He lives in Iowa City.
