Writers’ Workshop graduate Peter Bognanni will read from his coming-of-age novel The House of Tomorrow, set in the fictional town of North Branch, Iowa. Sebasian Prendergast, the book’s protagonist, lives in a geodesic dome with his eccentric grandmother, who has spent the last eleven years homeschooling him on the teachings of R. Buck- minster Fuller. When his grandmother has a stroke he is forced to leave the dome and discover what it means to live a normal life. Peter Bognanni’s short story, The Body Eternal was chosen by Stephen King as one of the 100 Most Distinguished short stories of 2006. Bognanni lives in St. Paul and teaches Creative Writing at Macalester College.
