Wayne Johnson and Karen Subach will read from their work. Wayne Johnson will read from Live to Ride: The Rumbling, Roaring World of Speed, Escape, and Adventure on Two Wheels, his new book on bikers, motorcycle history and lore, dirt biking, road racing, and world class hill climbing. Wayne Johnson received an MFA from the University of Iowa Writers' Workshop and a Wallace Stegner Fellowship from Stanford University. His first novel, The Snake Game, was a London Times Bestseller. He is the author of three subsequent novels, Don't Think Twice, Six Crooked Highways, and The Devil You Know. His first non-fiction book, White Heart: The Extreme Skiing Life, was released by Simon and Schuster in 2007.


Karen Subach will read from her first  collection of poems, Mysteries, and also from her recently finished novel, Divine Providence, excerpts of which have been published in Roanoke Review and New England Review. Dana Gioia describes Mysteries as a "sustained meditation on essential things we cannot grasp quite consciously, but approach only through prayer, ritual, and painful memory." Karen Subach received an MA from Oxford University and MFA from The University of Iowa Writers' Workshop. Her work has appeared in The American Poetry Review, Cimarron Review, CutBank, New Letters.
